Our pilot project, “EchoSee: an assistive technology platform for simulating human echolocation to assist those who are blind or severely visually impaired with safe and independent navigation,” has been funded from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Visual Loss (CPTVL).

Brody recently finished his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University and is joining Iowa as a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Welcome!

Prof. Bell was featured in the Fall 2019 “Iowa Engineer” magazine in an article titled, “Tyler Bell: Augmenting our Reality.”

Profs. Guadalupe Canahuate and Tyler Bell’s proposal "Responsible use of open source software and internet accessible code,” was one proposal selected for the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering’s initiative for Enhancing Ethical Context in the CoE Curriculum.
