Our pilot project, “EchoSee: an assistive technology platform for simulating human echolocation to assist those who are blind or severely visually impaired with safe and independent navigation,” has been funded from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Visual Loss (CPTVL).

The Holo Reality Lab welcomes Broderick “Brody” Schwartz! Brody is joining Iowa having received the Dean’s Graduate Engineering Fellowship. Brody recently finished his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University and is joining Iowa as a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Welcome!

Profs. Guadalupe Canahuate and Tyler Bell’s proposal "Responsible use of open source software and internet accessible code,” was one proposal selected for the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering’s initiative for Enhancing Ethical Context in the CoE Curriculum.
